Various Results

Great job by everyone. Particularly the brave, dashing, and daring that took on the TJ Pi Miler this weekend. It takes a particular kind of nobility to lose gracefully to a ruddy-faced high school lad. Also, big congrats to Shawn Rumery, who won my hometown race last weekend after jogging nine miles to get to the start line. Very promising results at the DC Rock N Roll Half Marathon as well.

Fwd: RunWashington Rankings

Just a heads up that the RunWashington rankings are out:

http://issuu.com/runwashington/docs/rw_spring_2015/17?e=11120282/11274639

* Chris Pruitt and Rachel Clattenburg are both fourth in their respective genders.
* Jeff Redfern is 14th.
* Friend of Dojo Cindy Conant is 8th.
* Miguel Perez is first in the 30-39s

Also, though it nearly slipped by notice, Megan Haberle shaved a couple seconds off her previous 5k club record at the St. Pats Day 5k. Club records have been updated, but if I've missed anyone, please let me know.

Weekend Race Report/News You Can Use

WEEKEND RESULTS:

A few highlights from the weekend of racing -

* Jen Maranzano won the Reston 10 Miler (or Res10n Miler - yes, this is their preferred name) this Sunday in 64:17. Very exciting race, where Jen bided her time behind the two top women for the entire race, until taking the lead for the first and last time at the 8 mile mark.

Dan Yi was a distant 2 seconds behind Jen at the finish. She outkicked him as he sprinted to the finish so he could experience what it was like to break a finishing line tape.

* Megan Haberle came in second at the St. Patrick's Day 5k (or the St. Patri5k's Day) on Sunday, running 18:13, neck and neck with the women's winner, and edging third place by a couple seconds. Judging by results, a furious sprint to the finish.

Shlomo Fishman (17:27, 10th), Taylor Williamson (17:40, 13th), and Tim Hughes (18:04, 21st) all finished near the top of the standings! Note, Tim did this while also running the 10k right after.

* The St. Patrick's Day 10k also saw lots of action.

Rachel Clattenburg checks in with a 7th overall, sneaking under the 40 minute barrier (39:59). Cindy Conant wasn't far behind, running 40:40 and winning her age group, by a lot. Judy Chen comes in second in her age group with a 40:47.

Among the men, JFK man Matt Wieczorek led the way with a 36:43 (22nd), closely followed by Drew Killian in 37:24 (27th), and doubling crazy person Tim Hughes (39:03, 47th)
