Park Run Results

A belated but noteworthy dispatch from America's Park Run impresario, Henry Wigglesworth:

Three dojoistas came to today's Fletcher's Cove parkrun and ran very well. Jenny Paul set a new course record for women (18:56), despite sprinting from Georgetown to make it to the start on time.  Laura Jennings and Paul Karlsen took it easier and finished around 21:30.  For full results click on link below.

As a reminder, parkrun is every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and is a friendly, free alternative to local 5K races. And it is getting increasingly competitive near the top: today, in addition to Jenny's record setting pace, we had two men go under 17 (including 40-something Scott Anderson, a sub-4 miler back in the day).  Course record for men stands at 15:39.

So c'mon down!  Meanwhile, according to reports, Alan is winning his age group in parkruns in London.

Jim Moore PRS

Jim Moore runs a 2:48:41 to PR by two minutes.

Pat runs a 2:53:23, almost a PR

Julia runs 3:42:59

Other results in the works

Update

Jim Moore, Miles Aitken, and Pat Murray have come through 23. They all are looking solid, cranking along. The crowd and the field is starting to thicken up!

Update

Edna wins, Hasay third in debut.

Looks like Rupp is in for a tough battle for second. Osako came through looking great right behind him. If Rupp holds him off, that would be impressive.

Pat is at 30k in 6:35 pace.

Adam at 30k in 6:54 pace.

Lydia running in 7:54 pace

Steve in 8:14 pace

Miles in 6:20 pace.

Women's leaders

Just came through. Edna looks like she has it sewn up.

Jordan Hasay, if the crowd buoys her, has a very good chance at 2nd, in her marathon debut.

Desi in fourth, still grinding.

Boston Update

Rupp is looking really solid in a slowly dwindling lead pack through 17.

Edna Kiplagat is just obliterating the field.

Pat through half in 1:24:50

Wave 3 is off

Steve is through 5k on pace for a 3:34 projected marathon.

Miles is through half in 6:10/mile pace.

Pat is through 20k in 1:20:19.

Jim is through half in 1:24.

Big surge by Edna Kiplagat

1:46 in, during the hills, Edna kiplagat throws down a massive surge. Splintered the lead pack completely...

Still waiting

On the first women to come through.

In the shade, the temps actually feel good. A nice tailwind. But in the sun, it is pretty brutal out here.

Update

Miles is through 15k in 6:05 pace.

Pat is through 15k in 6:26 pace

Adam through 15k in 6:42 pace

Lydia through 15k in 7:48 pace

Desi running her usual metronome (disregarding the pack). Jordan Hasay looking great.

Crowds are starting to form...

Hand cyclists are coming through. Women are already through the half way point.

Gearing Up

Robin is on Dojo tracking, Jen on Letsrun tracking, me on blogging...

Race Morning

It is 65 degrees here on race morning, with clear skies. There is a 12-15 mph wind coming from the west, which should be a nice tailwind. But the temps are certainly on the warm side.

Bull Run 50 Miler

Big congrats to the Dojo-istas who ran the Bull Run 50 Miler today. Based on the preliminary results, it looks like there were 285 crazy people who finished today.

Tim Greszler made a stellar debut at the distance in 8:20 (19th place).
Barry Hauptman - no stranger to ultras - runs 9:13 and wins the senior division.

Pat and Robin were also out there working the aid stations.

Way to go everyone!
