Lots of results this weekend! A quick roundup, going from shortest distance to longest:
Great job by the guys, with a lot of depth showing this weekend:
Jeff Redfern - 16:50
Josh Sohn - 16:51
Miles Aitken - 17:02
Chris Higby - 17:17
Taylor Williamson - 17:52
Alan Pemberton -19:29 (wins his age group by 4 minutes)
The Summer of Jenny Paul continues. She breaks the heady 20 minute mark in the 5k, running a 19:45 and coming in second in her age group.
Also, great job (even if it's in a red singlet) by Rachel Clattenburg, running a very quick 18:11, and Drew Killian, who ran 18:04.
Matt Wiezcorek comes in THIRD OVERALL at the Burning River 100 Miler this Saturday in Ohio, setting a new men's club record for time and insanity! Great race from Matt, who worked his way up from the field steadily. If the tracker is correct, he surged up the field around the 40 mile mark, and was in a pitched battle throughout the last 60 miles, jockeying for the lead. I remember sitting in the Woolly Mammoth theater on Saturday night, thinking, "good gracious, I've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner, watched several Netflix shows, and now am comfortably sitting here, watching a 2.5 hour long stage production, and Matt has been running this entire time." That is mind-boggling to me.
Shannon Beebe then decided to go out and do an Ironman on Sunday. Our favorite Canadian (edging bacon, and even the collective Cowboy Junkies) finished in an outstanding 11:51:35, 54th overall woman. Wow!!!
